Do you have…

·      Heel Pain?

·      Knee, Hip or Back Pain?

·      Ball of the Foot Pain?

·      Arch Pain?

·      Top of the Foot Pain?

·      Ankle Pain?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may need orthotics. Orthotics are custom made inserts that help comfort and support irregularities in the foot, align posture and/or relieve pain in the foot, leg, and back. They make standing, walking and running more comfortable by helping to reduce pain and improve abnormal biomechanical forces due to impaired/dysfunctional foot and ankle mobility and strength.

How do Orthotics Help?

Custom made orthotics help to reduce unnecessary stress and/or pain in the feet, lower limbs and lower back by either re-aligning a patient’s foot within their footwear or accommodating specific conditions or deformities. When worn with appropriate footwear, orthotics can be effective in providing relief from a variety of foot related issues including heel, arch and forefoot pain. Orthotics can also help relieve pain for those who struggle with complications related to comorbid health conditions such as diabetes or arthritis that can affect the lower extremity joints.

What is an Orthotic?

A custom orthotic is a device designed to align the foot and ankle into the most anatomically efficient position. They look like insoles but are medical appliances that are custom made to correct your specific foot imbalance.

What is the Difference Between an Orthotic and a Shoe Insert?

Inserts that you buy in stores without a prescription can provide cushioning and support. They may be made of materials like gel, plastic, or foam. Inserts fit into your shoes; but they are not custom-made for your feet. Inserts can provide arch support or extra cushioning on the heel, around the toes, or for your entire foot. Inserts might make your shoes more comfortable but are not designed to correct foot problems. They are temporary and usually do not last making a need to replace regularly an added cost.

Custom Orthotics - they are customized for your specific foot condition and concern.

Custom orthotics are prescription medical devices that you wear inside your shoes to correct biomechanical foot issues such as problems with how you walk, stand, or run. They can also help with foot pain caused by various medical conditions such as diabetes, plantar fasciitis, bursitis, and arthritis.
